A PHP form has two vital attributes.

The method attribute determines the way in which data will be transmitted to the server.

The value of this attribute specifies the location to which the data should be sent.

Example this form sends to process.php, which is a way PHP, would handle the submitted data.

Form Methods in PHP

There are mainly two form methods supported by PHP.

The GET method transmit data in the URL. For this reason, programmers usually use it for search forms and not sensitive data.

On the other hand, The POST method on the other hand sends the data in the request body in a secure way. So this is the reason that POST is the preferred method for passwords and personal information.

Accessing Form Data in PHP

When the user submits a form, PHP stores the data in special variables called superglobals. These variables will be easy to retrieve the user data.

Common PHP superglobals include:
$_GET for GET requests
$_POST for POST requests
$_REQUEST for both GET and POST methods

As a result, handling form data becomes simple and efficient.
